St Anton am Arlberg - Summer
St Anton - and the Arlberg - provide a range of activities for all types and age of visitor. Many are attracted by the views of the surrounding mountains and the calm streams of the wooded valleys. Others like to explore the history and traditions that started when the first traders struggled over the Arlberg Pass.
Walking
and mountainbiking in the Arlberg area is a treat for those who are interested
in the outdoors. A network of mountain paths and huts
will spoil the hiker for choice, while the mountainbiker can opt for one
of the many forest roads criss-crossing the mountainsides. For those whose
sporting needs are a little more sedate, there is a 6-hole golf course and
a swimming pool and sauna complex.
The
history
and traditions of St Anton can be investigated in the local museum or on
one of the excursions to nearby places of interest operated by the local
bus company. And a great way to spend a summer evening is to visit the Tyrolean
evening - a display of local music, dancing and yodelling put on by a local
folklore group.
If you prefer to do things at your own pace and under your own steam, then discover one of the small village festivals held in the Arlberg area over the summer. Or use our experience of St Anton and this part of Austria to find the hidden gems within easy reach.
